Thanks to Apple for the Cloud
Thanks to Apple and the iPad/iPhone, the term “cloud” has moved in to the mainstream. For those of you that have setup iCloud and have lost a phone or an iPad, you will know that it has changed and saved your life!
Most people understand the basic principles of Cloud i.e. that it refers to applications that are accessed from the Web. But there is a whole lot more that it can do.
The phrase “cloud computing” covers a spectrum of technologies and is so vast. For this reason Forrester Research can say that the Cloud was a $30.7 billion market in 2011 and will grow to a whopping $241 billion in 2020. That is a quarter of a trillion dollars!! This growth is too big for anyone to ignore.
Whilst the UK market is still a little immature in its uptake of Cloud services, America are all guns blazing. Anyone that still runs a server in their company is now the laughing stock of their friends. However this change of culture is soon to be the standard here in the UK and here are cloudamour, we were one of the first companies in the UK to praise its virtues and preach the benefits to SME’s up and down the country.
