While the future may appear complex, we have learnt one thing… it sounds amazing.

In the dazzling building that is ExCel London, Microsoft’s Future Decoded event was held between the 10 – 12th November 2014, a highly anticipated occasion that we couldn’t wait to attend. This hype is owed to fantastic speakers including the first UK appearance from Microsoft’s new CEO Satya Nadella, ground breaking technology and a peak into what the future of what innovation holds.

This type of situation is one that we felt we had to be a part of, and in taking a Gold stand, we were at the front of the action.

Each day presented a different demographic of personnel, whether it be the business decision makers, our great compatriots as Microsoft Partners, or the ‘techies’ who were able to really get under the skin of the different solutions we provide: everyone provided a fantastic insight into this industry.

Speakers that have changed the game

Great events like these are normally met with great speakers, and Microsoft pushed the bar this time: with Satya Nadella, Jeremy Paxman, Brian Cox and many more, there really was a wealth of knowledge.

“The technology exists for one prime reason – to help human potential, and that’s what we’ve tried to do” – Satya Nadella

We were equally enthralled at how technology, specifically the cloud has advanced procedures in Lotus’s Formula 1 team; and the laser focused approach that is needed to understand incomprehensible subjects discussed by Brain Cox.

Dave Coplin @dcoplin was also there with his views on the modern business. We loved his forward thinking views and our CEO this was a star struck having just got back from his annual holiday raving about his new book “business reimagined”.

On the subject of our CEO, Mitchell was also on stage for day 2 of the event being interviewed by Linda Rendleman (UK Director – Partner Business & Development at Microsoft) in front of 3,000 people. He spoke of his success as a partner and how Microsoft had helped him along his amazing journey.

Mitchell was also invited to speak as part of the panel at the exclusive Ingram Micro Cloud event. Thanks for everyone who turned up.

With all the marketing and ‘giveaways’ from the different companies there, we were delighted to see a great deal of the people there wearing our Cloudamour stickers.

You could not turn your head without seeing the vibrant Cloudamour pink in your peripheral vision. We love to see this dedication to our values… even if it was to enter our competition (See video).

Your thoughts?

Overall we found this a fantastic event, and it really demonstrates Microsoft’s focus on the cloud, and hopefully we were able to show you our dedication to accelerate your business performance and build a stronger infrastructure. So despite the fantastic Delorean there (see video), we would love you to ‘step into the future’ (pun intended).

We would love to hear your thoughts if you were there.

  • What did you think of the keynotes?
  • Were you impressed by the technology?
  • Do you think Microsoft are pioneering cloud innovation?
