Evolution of the Cloud Apprentice
At RedPixie we understand the value of apprentices and truly enjoy introducing young people to the exciting environment that is modern IT.
Our quest to find young and inspiring people led us to Rhys who showed a persistence and eagerness to joinRedPixie that we couldn’t ignore. Despite an unsuccessful initial application, he took the advice of our Senior Technical Manager to heart and completed a number of courses to increase his basic knowledge of IT. He then returned for another interview and the rest is history.
In Rhys’s words: “I never realised that the IT industry was so difficult to get into! Without the apprentice program andRedPixie giving me the opportunity I don’t think I would have been successful.”
During Rhys’ time withRedPixie he continued to develop across the board to greatly improve his capabilities and also succeeded in gaining strong client and colleague relationships.
Nearing the end of his one year Apprenticeship, Rhys was offered a position with an organisation that allowed him to explore further routes within the IT sector – a proposition that was inconceivable a year ago. Having accepted the offer, we wish Rhys every success for his future in the IT industry and we still remain in contact.

This transition naturally led us to accepting our new apprentice, James who has fully embraced this role and has made good progress in becoming an indispensable member of the team.
‘My experience has been exciting; I have been able to improve my problem solving abilities and advance my IT knowledge while working in a fun team.’
Within the support team there is a great impetus placed on client relationships, and Paul – Service Desk Team Leader – believes that James has really managed to adapt to his role and grow in his knowledge of IT as well as effectively dealing with customers.
‘James has fitted in very well with the Support team and has already received great praise from our customers with his friendly demeanour and commitment to following up queries to their full conclusion!’
