Mail, Outlook, Send Personally

We continue our look at our favourite apps and add ins this month with a very clever Add-In from Microsoft.

We often have emails that we want to send to a group of people through Outlook however without tools like this we have had to resort to either having everyones email address in the ‘to’ field (not great as not only are you sharing everyones email addresses to each other, it lacks personal touch), bcc’ing everyone (again lacks personal touch and also risks going into spam or trash folders), or finally copying and pasting that message a number of times to be able to send them individually (time wasting!)

There has also been the option of the mail merge function, however this is clunky at best and requires you to have contacts in spreadsheets to import.

MAPILab, an established and reliable vendor of Outlook add-ins has dealt with this issue by creating ‘Send Personally”.

Send Personally requires you to set up ‘groups’ in your contacts.  You then compose your message, and add the group in the To: field.  Once done you click the ‘Send Personally’ button and the software does the rest, sending the email with each individual recipients email address in the To:field, making the email seem much more personal!

If you want to personalise the email further, such as including their first name in the opening line, this can be done with some simple macros.

In essence, using this tool makes sending mass emails easier and takes no more time than sending one single message – we love it!

Will it work for you?

Microsoft Send Personally will work with:

Microsoft Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 8;

Microsoft Outlook 2013, 2010, 2007 & 2003
